The Jubilee Kitchen Group was formed in 1984 to familiarize parish volunteers with the plight of the inner city poor and homeless by helping out at the Jubilee Soup Kitchen in the Lower Hill District of Pittsburgh. This soup kitchen is Pittsburgh’s largest and provides one free meal daily for many poor or homeless people in the city. It has been a real eye-opening and rewarding experience for all volunteers to meet Jesus in these poorest of people.
