 We Are So Blessed
Words cannot express our gratitude for the response of
our parishioners to our new ministry, God’s Precious
Preemies. Under the leadership of Jan Shaffer the
group has made hundreds of hats, dresses, booties
and blankets that are used in the NIC Units of
hospitals in Pittsburgh. Thank you.
God’s Precious Preemies Ministry And
Peace Shawl Ministry
God’s Precious Preemies is made up of
caring women who want to give their time to helping
children. We crochet, knit and sew clothing,
blankets, sheets and laundry bags for the children
in the NICU in six different hospitals in
Pittsburgh. These babies require clothing smaller
than the average size baby and sometimes are hard to
find. You are not asked to meet any quota on the
items you want to make or a time schedule. We want
you to work at your own speed. Our group also makes
Peace Shawls for women in areas of conflict around
the world. Both groups meet once a month to keep in
touch, exchange patterns, learn new stitches, drop
off finished items and just to get together to look
at the many items that are brought in. You are not
required to make these meetings. All we ask is to
keep in touch with us. There will always be a
teacher to show you or help you with your crocheting
and knitting needs. When you come to the meetings
you can either work on the baby clothes or Peace
Shawls. We will all be in the same room. If you have
