Elementary
Religious Education helps individuals and
communities acquire and deepen Christian faith and identity
through initiation rites, instruction, and formation of
conscience. To meet the needs of our growing parish, Religious
Education classes are offered at various times. Children must
be registered each year for grades one through eight. Please see
Senior Youth Ministry for information on Jr. high and high school students.
Registration forms for Religious Education classes are available
on the website, at the rectory, or in the Religious Education
Office. A yearly registration fee is charged to help cover the
cost of books and materials.
The Sacraments of Reconciliation
and Eucharist are received in the second grade. Students are
required to attend first grade to provide two years preparation
for these sacraments.
Parents of children preparing for
a sacrament are required to attend preparation classes for each
sacrament.
Children with special needs either become part of
the Christian Initiation of Children (CIC) process or are
mainstreamed in regular Religious Education classes in
conjunction with one-on-one tutoring.
