Meager Meal & Guest Speakers
What kind of story are you telling?
Each of us
tells a story with our life. In a way, it is the
story we tell to God. Too often we think the
Christian story is simply, “I didn’t lie, cheat, or
steal—much.” But our stories can and should be so
much more.
Chris & Laura Reese are the guest speakers at the
meager meal on Monday, March 22, in Oldenski Hall,
after the 7:00 pm Mass. Join them to learn how to
start living a more interesting, creative,
adventurous, and loving story. In addition,
Walt and Wilma Scott from the Mexico Mission
Ministry will give a short presentation and slide
show. Please call Bonnie at 724-776-9177, ext. 313
by March 19 for reservations.
Hope in the Midst
of Turmoil & Suffering
Fr. Lou Vallone, Pastor of St. John of God and St.
Catherine of Siena will offer a Lenten Reflection on
Monday, February 22, after 7:00 pm in the church.
A Study of Jesus as the Universal Teacher
Join the Centering Prayer Group,
beginning Tuesday, February 23, for the six Tuesdays
of Lent. Explore the hallmarks of Jesus’ teachings
in the CD program titled,
Seeking Peace: A Dialogue on Jesus.
The teachings of Jesus are bridges that connect the
believers of many religious faiths. Learn what Jesus
taught about tolerance, the healing that comes from
forgiveness, non-violence, the “third way” of
thinking, unlocking the contemplative mind, learning
to “descend” instead of seeking worldly status, and
finally, a struggle with the question, “Why did
Jesus die”? The dialogue takes place between two
renowned contemplative teachers, Benedictine Monk
Laurence Freeman and Franciscan Father Richard
Rohr. You are welcome to attend all or any of these
programs, as each program stands on its own with a
valuable insight. Join Centering Prayer in the Upper
Room, at 9:15 am every Tuesday in Lent. Centering
Prayer begins with 20 minutes of silent prayer
followed by the 45-minute enrichment program that
ends by 11:00 am.
Come for Tea
