One way of renewing parishes,
especially urgent for parishes in large cities (or
towns), might be to consider the parish as a
community of communities and movements. It seems
timely therefore to form ecclesial communities and
groups of a size that allows for true
human relationships…In such a human context, it
will be easier to gather to hear the word of God, to
reflect on the range of human problems in the light
of this word, and gradually to make responsible
decisions inspired by the all-embracing love of
Christ. Pope John Paul II The
Church In America Jan.22,1999
A
Small Faith Community is a group of ordinary people
listening to their own story and the stories of
others in light of the Scriptures in an attempt to
make sense of their life, of life itself, in a
small, safe, intimate environment.
Guess Who’s Coming
to Dinner Program
A new program began
in September 2007 to help parishioners get
acquainted with new friends in the parish. The
basis of the “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner Program”
is that a group of people go to another
parishioner’s home for dinner one Saturday a month,
and they are only given the address, phone number
and what to bring, i.e., appetizer, salad, vegetable
or dessert. The size of the dinner is based on the
number of people that each host can accommodate.
You do not have to host a dinner to be part of the
program. To sign up call Fran at 724-772-2063 or
Wilma Scott at 724-776-9177x 304 or
